Tennessee Shakespeare Festival Announces Cast

The Tennessee Shakespeare Festival's upcoming production of A Midsummer Night's Dream brings together a cast comprised of area professionals and local favorites, as well as a few nationally recognizable faces. Heading the cast is Lane Davies who directs and plays Oberon. Davies is a television veteran with more than 50 guest-starring roles to his credit, as well as 4 series' and several soaps, including a long-running role as bad-boy Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara. He has been popping up lately in re-runs as Elliot's dad on the popular sit-com Scrubs. Among those joining him are Ronnie Meek, Artistic Director of Lamplighters Theatre Company, as Theseus; Ruth Cordell, seen recently in I Hate Hamlet and The Goat at Tennessee Rep, plays Titania; Marc Silver, recognizable from Designing Women, and recently seen in The Underpants at Tennessee Rep plays Flute (and Thisbe); Clarksville native Jerry Winsett returns to his roots to assay the role of Bottom. Jerry is a veteran of such films as Radio Days, The Chosen, One Crazy Summer, Ragtime, and SunsetStrip, as well as numerous television shows and commercials; Local favorites Greg Wilson and Richard Northcutt are Egeus and Philostrate, respectively; Popular Nashville actors Eric Pasto-Crosby and Patrick Waller are Lysander and Demetius; They are joined by Kahle Reardon, seen recently as Abigail in The Crucible at Tennessee Rep, and Kate Siegel, who recently starred in the soon-to-be-released Steam, with Ally Sheedy and Ruby Dee, as Heria and Helena; Bobby Wycoff, a popular Nashville theatre veteran, plays Peter Quince, and 7'1" Joey Waldrop is almost type-cast as 'Wall' in the 'Pyramus and Thisbe' interlude. Rounding out the cast are Andrew Kanies, Alan Smith, Harley Walker, Kelsey Sutton, Erin McMahon, Nicole Rugel, Derrick Raley and Patrick Bennyworth. The performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be held on the Webb School athletic grounds. There will be tent seating as well as grounds seating for those preferring to bring a blanket. The Bell Buckle Café will be on site offering a variety of their down home style country cooking for picnicking. Premium Seating is $10 in advance and $15 at the gate ; Festival Seating is $5 at the gate, with children under 12 free.
